Shooting Investigated In South Jersey

Authorities are investigating a shooting in South Jersey.

The shooting occurred before 9:45 p.m. Tuesday on Burns Road in Millville, according to Millville police.

The victim, who reportedly was shot in the stomach, was airlifted to an area hospital, initial reports said.

Millville police referred questions to the state Attorney General's Office.

The Attorney General later confirmed it was an officer-involved shooting and that the victim was pronounced dead at Cooper University Hospital at 10:56 p.m.
